This site is run by volunteer leaders of the scout groups that share Bottle Bins to record our recycling fundraiser. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
Who can use it
Accounts are for parents, guardians and leaders of scouts in the groups on Bottle Bins, aged 18 or over. Use one account per person and give your real name, so leaders know who logged each tally.
Your account
- Keep your password private, and tell a group leader if you think someone else has used your account.
- You're responsible for what's logged from your account.
Logging tallies
- Log only containers you or your scouts actually collected, with honest counts.
- Choose the scouts and fund the money should go to. Parents can change a tally for a short time after logging it; after that, ask a leader.
- Only add scouts who are members of the group you're logging for, using their real first and last names.
Balances and each group's money
- The money raised belongs to the scout's group. Scout balances show each scout's share of what they helped raise. How it can be spent is decided by the group's leaders and policies, not by this site.
- Balances are records kept by volunteers. Leaders may correct mistakes, change container rates, recalculate past tallies at new rates, merge duplicate scouts, and record spending and adjustments. If the site and a group's official financial records disagree, the group's records decide.
Acceptable use
Don't try to see information you aren't meant to see, interfere with the site, or use it for anything other than the groups' fundraiser. Leaders may turn off any account that's misused or that no longer belongs to someone in a group.
No guarantees
The site is provided free, by volunteers, as it is. We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, the groups and their volunteers aren't liable for losses from using the site, or from it being unavailable.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.
